Shooting Range in Northern Ireland?

This will probably sound strange and odd... Me and the missus want to try something different this weekend so we're planning to go stay in a hotel for the weekend while the wee one is getting minded. For something different we thought it would be fun to try going to a shooting range.

Does this seem odd? Do couples do this type of thing or am I just being strange? We wanted to try it for someone different.

My question is, where (if any) are there any ranges/clay shooting places close to Belfast?

Thanks

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Try the Falls Road or Sandy Row:rotfl:

Only joking and not a strange thing indeed for couples, took the OH a few years ago to a day out at a clay pigeon club for shooting, I loved it, she hated it:( and hated the bruises on her shoulder for several days afterwards too:(

If going clay shooting remember a shotgun has quiet a kick to it, if your partner is small in stature and frame this may put her off enjoying the experience.

Have a look at https://www.foymorelodge.com/ seem good fun day out:T
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Foymore lodge is very well run and its just outside Portadown you could stay at Seagoe Hotel which isn't too far away or I'm sure Derek (Foymore lodge) could advise.

Sorry only getting back to replying now, great thanks for the suggestions, glad it's not a strange request as I remmember doing it once when I was about 16-17 and enjoyed it! Partner is quite small so that might be abit of a downside... I have to give those places a call see what the prices are etc...

What is that hotel like Choco? Anything else nearby that's interesting to do?

    Thanks!

Hotel is lovely although I have never stayed there. I did a wedding last week in it. You also have Peatlands Park, The Agory (National Trust) not to far away and well worth a visit to both.

Depending when you are thing of going. There is a large festival on in Portadown on 18th September - Country Comes To Town. However, if you contact Dereck @ Foymore I have no doubt he will put you in right direction.

Thanks, appreciate it. I'll give him a call this afternoon.

(Checked out the website, the 4x4 off-road looks fun have you tried it?)
  • Yeah I think Foymore was featured on the Gary and Danielle show around Northern Ireland.
