Mortgage Adviser -East Belfast

Hi Peeps

Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations- we are looking at houses at moment and hope to buy v soon.

Hubby has spoken to Northern Bank who will only go through application when we had agreed on a property. We also have a Halifax promise doda but as a money saving wannabee, I want to make sure we get the best deal going...I am using the mortgage compare sites as well, and know that sometimes mortgage advisers can advise on something thats beneficial for them.....so I was wondering, does anyone have any recommendations for Mortgage Advisers in East Belfast??

Thank you in advance:)

(tried searching for this topic, nothing came up, so apologies if there is a dup thread somewhere:))

I have only ever used Mortgage Iq at the holywood arches (90466668) the girls in there are so good and went above and beyond getting us a mortgage. I would happily send any member of my family to them in the knowledge they would be looked after.

Mortgage matters at ballyhackamore 90473474 ask for Russell Hathaway. He's always found the best deals for us, very meticulous and prompt at getting the deal done.

    I didn't pay Mortgage IQ a penny.

I think that all mortgage providers pay the advisor as they submit all the application forms.

My daughter needed some mortgage advice as her fixed term mortgage is coming to an end soon. I accompanied her to The Mortgage Shop, at 64 Holywood Road just up from S&R Electrics. We had an appointment with Sylvia Turtle who runs the business and is apparently a qualified Financial Adviser. We were both very impressed with her knowledge of the market. She was not in the least bit "pushy" as some can be, and could not have been more helpful. As my daughter will move to a rate lower than she is paying at present, when her current deal expires we didn't need to do anything in a hurry. In her experience recently, the main problem with the lenders is that they are valuing property way below what it is worth. By that I mean that even if an identical property close by, has offers of a certain amount, the valuers will not accept that as an indication of the market value of the property, and will value well below that, making mortgages very difficult to come by. We have experienced this ourselves, and even the intervention of the bank concerned was not sufficient to make the valuers re-consider.
