On 22/9/07 I bought a silver 2002 51 reg Zafira Club 1.6 55k miles for £5295 in great condition - no scratches, interior perfect, new cam belt. On 14/12/07 it was written off (she is trying to say her light was green too?!? After the excess of £210 is deducted, I am hoping to get around £5000. On autotrader it does…

free air at filling stations
This may be not the most important moneysaving issue with cars, but it is still annoying having to pay 50p just to check the tyre pressures. In my view filling stations should allow free air even if it is added to the cost of fuel (say 0.1p/litre) to encourage people to regularly check their tyre pressures for the purposes…

When to give up on an old car?
The thrifty motor is getting a bit long in the tooth now, it's a Renault Megane 1996 and it's going to need a bit of welding and probably other work to get it through an MOT. Bearing in mind that the cars value is fairly negligible, say £500-600 (more with an MOT) but the cost of another 2nd hand car would be say £2000+.…

very generic coupe question
My car will likely be replaced before the summer, and I've been thinking for a couple of days that as I'm single, no kids, etc.. I could get something sportier looking. There's a couple of coupes I like the look of (I'll admit now to not understanding much about the technical side of cars): 1. The Toyota Celica - any of…

Advice about an accident..
Hi all, Last week my OH was driving to work as normal. There is a tight mini round about with two lanes approaching it. The left hand one has an arrow marked straight on, the right hand lane is for right only, as marked on the road. Now, he was in the left hand lane going straight on towards the roundabout. This lady comes…

Silly question about catching a train early...
Hi I am due to be catching a train with my kid to MAnchester Airport on Saturday. We are set to arrive with 2 hours before departure - maybe a bit more sensible for us to catch the train 1 hour before the one we've paid for. Can we just hop on with our tkts- or do we need to pay extra for this. Never travelled by train…

Does anyone have a spare old Ryanair flight confirmation number that I could use pls?
I didn't realise I could only use my flight confirmation number once on the ryanair/stansted express booking page. I have used an old ryanair code from June 2007 to use against another single, but I need to purchase another single !! (If only I'd been more organised) I'd really appreciate it if someone has an old Ryanair…

Car Insurance Nightmare!
I was involved in a car accident that the other driver has admitted full liability for. Although he admitted full liability, my insurance company sent an independent assessor to my vehicle to evaluate repairs. It was consequently written off as they said it was not economically viable to repair it. I want to get my car…
