Elephant insurance - post or email certificate?
Hi All
Quick question for anyone who has their car insured with Elephant. Was your insurance certificate emailed or sent by post?
I'm buying a car on Dec 27th so need to sort the insurance out now if the cert needs to be posted, but it can wait if it would be emailed. I'll need the cert as the car is SORN so will need to be taxed immediately (for the last few days of December )
Cheers,
Jamp

We've used them a few times and it was always by post...0

I believe all Car Insurance Certificates have to be posted, I don't think e mail is allowed.
I may be wrong, perhaps others can confirm.0 -
I thought the same as Inactive...didn't think you could even use e-mailed ones as they're so easy to change on the 'puter...??0

Officially the Post Office won't accept self-printed docs, but in my experience they can't tell the difference between that and an 'official' one, so they do. One would hope they would protect against accepting fraudulent docs by also checking the insurance database same as is done when you tax online, but it didn't seem so last time I taxed at the PO (a while ago now as I do it online where possible).0

As others have said emailed ones aren't acceptable to tax the car. The only way to do it is when you get the certificate posted to you. perhaps get them to send it recorded/next day delivery?* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *
