Nationwide Mortgage Holiday
Hello, I'm trying to work out if I should apply to take the 12 month mortgage holiday feature of my Nationwide mortgage before changing to a better rate mortgage or whether I should just change my mortgage and lose the mortgage holiday feature. In the next 2-3 years I’m hoping to be able to buy a house and I thought that…

just some info please about mortagages
We are looking at buying a home with baratt and they have given us a mortgage advisor, who today offered only precise mortgages ( my partners credit history issues not mine) so while we were happy to get a offer, would it make a difference getting a second opinion by another mortgage advisor? so gutted as the house we…

Block of flats settlement
I purchased a flat in a small block, to discover that there is historic settlement. This was not evident and was not picked up by the valuer. The managing agents seem utterly clueless and do not know the difference between an insurance certificate and an insurance policy. After two months they instructed a surveyor to look…

Hi all, Firstly, thank you to all the contributors on this forum, I have benefited from posts on here many times however this time the specific topic either doesn't exist, or I don't know what I'm searching for (which is half the problem!) We have recently purchased a property and are in the process of obtaining planning…

Brexit Effects in London
I suspect there have been many other threads like this but I thought I would get people's opinions... My partner and I are considering buying in Woolwich, our limit is 300k which includes a 40k deposit. This is about the price of most new build 2-bed flats near the station. We picked Woolwich as it's fairly easy to commute…

What to do?
So about 10 years ago we needed to move house - in hindsight possibly a little naive as we had already paid 10 years of a standard mortgage off our old house. In order to get our 'dream house' we started again with a 25 year 95% mortgage on the dreaded LIBOR rate. 10 years later we still have another 15 years to pay. We…

NRAM/Tulip won't offer lower rate
Hi, we have been with them more than 9 years now, it was fixed 5.20% for 5 years then on their variable rate 4.79% dropping last year to 4.59% for loyalty. Asked them twice to move us to a lower rate but they refused and said they can't offer us any new rate as they are not taking on new businesses! Are they telling the…

Hi, Our mortgage has been approved, but we are yet to exchange contracts. As i'm sure most of you know, Mark Carney recently announced that interest rates will be dropping. Mortgage accepted. Handing work notice
Hi money saving experts! I used to freelance on good income, but when it comes to running your own business, lenders don't really like that and I didn't have enough SA302s to get a high enough mortgage. So I took a full-time job to support my mortgage application. However, it's only been 4 months now and I am at the point…
