Waiting for a mortgage decision from Natwest. Anyone else?
Our broker advised that our application was submitted yesterday. We have received an e-mail this afternoon saying Natwest have requested a signed direct debit mandate to enable them to proceed to valuation. The waiting begins. I feel so nervous. Is anyone else awaiting a decision from Natwest?

ERC at end of fixed deal
I'm on a fixed rate mortgage which expires at the end of September. For various reasons I've had to sell my house and I will be moving into rented accommodation. I still have 3 more payments to make before the fixed period ends, 1st July, August and September. July and August will definitely be paid before the house sale…

Switching to a different fixed-rate mortgage
Hi, I am 7 months and five days away from my current 2 year fix ending. With a debt left of roughly £104k and a 1% ERC, so ~£1k. By switching to a five-year fix now (currently just checked current provider, I may be able to get better elsewhere) the rate would actually increase from what it is now on the fixed by the…

I have some questions on stamp duty that i hoped some one may know the answer to. My wife owns a house outright in her name only. We plan to add my name to the register so we are joint tenants. I understand that there would be no stamp duty to pay at that point , is that right? We then plan to raise a BTL mortgage on the…

Buying a second home for son to live - BTL or First Time Buyer?
We have about £60k and we're thinking to pay off our current mortgage with it. We are then thinking to get a new mortgage for a second house, where our son will be living with his friends and basically be paying the rent (mortgage amount). Would we have to get a BTL mortgage or a normal First Time Buyer mortgage, since our…

Under valuation panic
So I have a lot of free time which makes me have an over-active imagination (like my happy ever after with the pretty cashier at YBS or the pretty account advisor at Lloyds). My mortgage process seems to be going well (moving quickly despite electoral roll issues) but with the valuation coming up (maybe this week) I've…

Missing Exchange Date
Hello, After some advice, previous stories etc. We reserved a plot with Charles Church and were advised we would have to exchange after 35 days which we thought wouldn't be a problem. However our mortgage application has been a little more complicated then expected and as we are currently living with parents and everything…

Is my buyer messing around?
My buyer was contacted today for an update as the offer was accepted almost three weeks ago but no valuation appears to have been booked. He evidenced his deposit and his buy to let mortgage with Natwest at the offer stage (presumably AIP). He said today that the surveyors were meant to be out today or tomorrow according…
