Also I assume it will affect an application for an approval in principle too is this correct? Cheers

She and her sister got the mortgage together and all was well (her sister didn't live there, nor did she pay towards the mortgage). My wife then moved in with me and here sister…

But-to-let vs Residential
Hi, I'm going to be in a position shortly, where I will own 2 houses, with one to be rented out and the other to be my residential home. However, I will only need one mortgage, on either property, to cover my debts. I was led to believe that in any situation where you are renting out a second property, you should maximise…

Borrowing more than required from the bank for the mortgage, good or not?
We have the possibility of borrowing up to 14k more than we require for our mortgage. While it is very tempting as it will allow us to carry out some improvements that are required in the new property I am just wondering in the long term how cost effective in terms of interest it would be. I am not great with figures and…

Opening a Premium Bond / NS&I account during mortgage application
Hi, I'm in the early stages of a mortgage application and intend to gather the cash deposit that's currently sat in ten+ bank accounts and move them to a single account. I quite like the idea of putting it all into Premium Bonds during the mortgage process. Would the NS&I CRA identity search be visible to my lender? Or is…
