Dudley Building society
I've been offered a mortgage with Dudley Building Society, who have agreed to overlook the single default on my credit file. Thank heavens. It's bringing on massive anxiety attacks at this stage though :rotfl: (not a laughing matter, it's bloody scary) Anyway, I just wanted to see what, if anything, people have heard about…

Chaning mortgage offer before completion
Hello, We're buying a house off-plan and the house is shortly to be ready. We've had a mortgage in place for a while with Halifax (who apparently deal well with off-plan mortgages - i.e. extending the offer) which was quite competitive at the time we reserved it last year but is not so much now. Now the house is due within…

I was made bankrupt in 2010, so a year in May and it’ll be off my file, but since then I haven’t done any work repairing my credit file (I have no debt) but it’s still ‘poor’. We would like to buy a bigger house possibly around 300000. I earn approx 41000+3000 overtime and my partner 7000. We have good credit files. What chances do you…

Risk of deflation with interest rate hikes, should I fix my mortgage?
Just seen this on the news. At the moment I'm on nationwide base rate which is 2% above the bank of England base rate. I think I could get a 10year fixed @ 3.04% with no fee or 2.94% with £999 fee. Should I be jumping on this?

What's the purpose of remortgaging? Is it just moving from one lender to another? I . Moving the debt? Also does it cost more or what is the reason behind it?
