Increasing term issue
I spoke to my bank and asked if I could overpay my mortgage each month temporarily and not on a permanent basis. They sent me out a form. I signed the form but added to the form that this is not on a permanent basis. Heard nothing. I now want to decrease the payments to the 'normal amount'. They say, apparently, I'd signed…

L&G endowment - amount paid today
In case it is of interest to anyone out there, my 25 year L&G 'with profits' endowment policy has just matured at £26,509. The mortgage target was £34,500 and I have been paying £63.80 per month. The shortfall of about £8000 works out at 23.2% less than target and of course far less than what was optimistically forecast…

Fixed vs tracker?
I have 2 mortage options: 2 year fixed 3.79% with no arrangement fee 2 year tracker at 3.29% above base with no fee (so currently 3.79%) I'm thinking that trackers only come into their own when there is a chance of base rate going down, but it's not likely to get much lower, is it? So it seems like fixing at a rate the…
