Got a letter saying my mortgage is going up .5%.Here we go,the banks now think they don't have to take any notice of the Bank of England base rate and can jack their rates up when ever they feel like it! Tracker mortgage at 2.79% or a 5 year fixed at 3.39%?
What would you choose? Suppose it all depends when you think the base-rate might increase by. A 0.75% rise would see the tracker being greater than that fixed rate. Not 100% sure what to choose.

I'd be grateful to hear from anyone re how long their mortgage application took. Nationwide have just told me 6-8 weeks!! am worried the whole thing will collapse if it takes that long.
