Mortgage Deal Coming To An End
I am currently with Nationwide on a 3 fixed on 5.98%. This deal comes to an end in December then reverts to a variable rate currently at 2.5% (because it reverts to a Base Mortgage Rate guaranteed to never go above 2% of the base rate) Should I let my mortgage revert, or should I go for a 5 year fixed deal at 3.89%, which…

Mortgage Endowment
We bought an Endowment policy from Guardian Royal Exchange (Freedom for Homebuyers) alongside a mortgage from Abbey National in 1992. We sold the house in 1998 and the mortgage was cleared. The endowment policy ceased at the same time and we expected a refund of monies paid into the endowment, as had been promised when we…

FTB with big deposit. Good time to tie into a fixed rate for 10years?
1st time buyers here. Doing some research today on some comparison sites it seems Yorkshire Building Society would be able to offer us a 10yr fixed at either 4.19% (with extra set up fees) / £623 per month or 4.39 (with minimal setup fees) / £632 per month. As interest rates are likely to be the lowest they will ever be,…

Conveyancing fees?
It's been quite a while since I've bought a house. A quick search suggests that the fees range considerably. Is it a case of "you pays your money....." or is it because it is largely impersonal and done on line (which suits me)?

Lender's rate has reduced since I began application - can I take advantage?
Hi I have completed much of the mortgage application with YBS and booked onto the 3.99% 5 yr fix, which back in June was market leading. I have stalled the later stages of the mortgage process (I've done all of the credit checks, proof of income etc) due to house sale falling over. With 2 weeks left of 90 days grace lender…
