This question may well have been asked before, so I apologise in advance. I have just recently remortgaged my current home to a new fixed 2 year deal, back in October 2009. Now, the house we have dreamed of has just come onto the market, which would be our "forever home". This has gone on sale for £300,000. Our house is…

Overpaying our mortgage
How much is a worthwhile amount to overpay your mortgage each month? is there a point in paying say £5 or are we better off paying more..or are we better of saving a big chunk and doing it that way? We have a maximum of £999 each month we can go up to. It is fixed. Thanks

Higher Lending Charges. Fair or Unfair??
Hi. In June 2008 I had to get a 95% mortgage. Because of this, RBS charged me £2.5k as a higher lending charge on top of all the other fees for setting up the mortgage and the valuation etc etc. Does anyone know if these charges are legal or not? I believe this could be nearly as big as the Bank Charges phenomenon thats…

Basically I've only had the mortage 4 years so in this…

Just wasted 3 weeks trying to remortgage with the Halifax, only to be told at the last minute we don't meet the income criteria! What is going on with these people? My husband and I were told we could borrow up to 90% of the valuation of our house, and in fact we eventually elected to borrow a lot less than this, to…
