Quick question...
M&D own a property outright, they are looking at mortgaging it to give me the cash to buy another property. When looking at mortgage rates, obviously they aren't first time buyers, but are they classed as remortgaging? Most remortgage rates mention moving from other providers or taking on more borrowings, which technically…

YBS offering 2 year fix at 4.99% to me (an existing customer)
The kind folk at Yorkshire Building Society have written me a letter informing me that my current 5 year deal is coming to an end. My LTV is 37% according to them. The SVR is currently 4.99% which is exactly what their fee free 2 year fixed rate mortgage is set at. It still feels a bit high to me and there are certainly…

general mortgage advice and understanding comparison sites
I know the final decision will have to be mine, but what are your views about fixing or not? My mortgage ends this month and I'm looking at trackers versus 2-year fixed deals. Also just wanted to clarify something on the comparison sites. If the products are ranked in cost (low to high) over the 2 year term, then why in…

FTB - Should we wait?
Are house prices going to continue to fall do you think or will they level off and maybe start rising again over the next year or so? People keep saying (by 'people' I mean uncle/cousin/gran/colleague i.e. the average lay person) that house prices are levelling off now and that now would be a good time to buy. But, my gut…
