The thread where you tell my husband to get real!
Currently having an email argument with hubbie, when I should be working....who's right? By rights, it should be him as he works in the banking industry and is immersed in it all.....but then I think he is wrong because I'm a woman, therefore always right :D We bought our house in October 2006, for £220,000, in a Herts…

hiya, im finding my current mortatge payments a bit of a struggle, due to a series of knock on effects, sky high childcare costs over the summer, hubby being off work sick for a few weeks etc, so i have missed one months mortatge payments, so i have an arrangement in place to pay it off, though that wipes out most of my…

High salary mulitple, but with greater than 25% deposit
Can anyone suggest likely providers in todays market? We have a more than 25% deposit on asking price of a property we have seen, but the mortgage would be a high multiple of income, this year. DH is currently sole earner. in 18months DH has a contracted salary increase that would make this a much more manageable 3 times…

Now no bank will lend me money
Hi all moneysavers, I've rang several banks enquiring about obtaining a buy to let mortgage. They all say that because of the "Credit Crunch" they need to see proof of annual income of 25,000+ p.a. I don't have anywhere near this income. What I do have however, is 100% equity in a house worth approx £140,000, and savings…

My credit score on credit expert is 999. But they think that as I have 61k unsecured credit available, of which no more than 10 is being used could be…

Missed Payments / Credit Rating
Hi, when I cancelled my vodafone contract last month, I stupidly did so just as I was leaving for a trip. Upon my return I found I had several letters from vodafone requesting my final payment be made on my account, which I did so immediately. Although in my credit file it now says "Satisfactory", the missed payment mark…

A&L Mortgages: fixed rate to tracker
Before you assume that once your A&L fixed rate mortgage ends it will automatically revert to the lender's variable rate, check the paperwork. They have a number of schemes which revert to a TRACKER for the remainder of the mortgage, in some cases as low as BoE base rate + 0.75%. It could be happy days!

Mortgaged until Sept 09!
Hi there, I own a 1 bedroom flat with a mortgage of £84,000 left. If I move before I have to pay ERC of £5000. Which I don't mind paying if I get the right amount back on my property. Which having had it on the market with a useless estate agent for 4 months didn't even get a viewing. It was on for 98,000 and we paid…

Mortgage/saving question
I currently am trying to decide whether to get a fixed rate on my savings, but as i currently do not own a home i am wondering what the mortgage position would be if i found a house whilst my savings were tied up in a fixed term account? Would they be taken into account in terms of getting a better mortgage rate? Obviously…

BoE rate / SVR
Hi this may be a really dumb question but i was wondering if reductions in the BoE rate would automatically (eventually) have an effect on mortgage SVR's? We are currently with Accord on a 4.73 fixed rate till 31/01/09, at the current time Accord fixed rates for what i anticipate they will say our LTV is arent that…

Stay with my long(ish) fix or jump ship to a tracker?
I'm on a decent-ish fix with Coventry of 5.55% until July 2010. But I have no ERCs (and only a £125 exit fee) so am thinking of jumping ship to a lifetime BR tracker with another lender. With all this talk of the BR heading south (3%, maybe even 2%), I can't stand the idea of paying over the odds, especially to a bank!…
