Nationwide Fixed Ends Jan 09

Options
I'm on a Nationwide 2 yr fix which ends Jan 09. Should I start shopping around now? Tried to contact Nationwide but can't discuss new deals at the moment - looking at their website they are charging loyal customers arrangement fees!!

I have £75k on mortgage over 19 yrs do not want a large arrangement fee does anyone know of any good deals out there at the moment? I think I want to stay on a fixed again so I know where I stand with payments.

Amanda.

Nationwide tend to have market leading rates, if you want to remain fixed I would wait a couple of weeks for Nwide - If you wanted a tracker I'd say act now before they all get removed!
  • I have always had a fixed rate. Not too sure about going on a tracker - with the recession etc frightened that the interest rates are going to go sky high what do you think?

We are in this mess with low interest rates, thye ill stay low for at least the next 3 years whilst we recover - however this risk is only worth taking if your mortgage is sensible(ie less than 3.2 x your income) in my opinion.
