I think First Direct are over-charging my daily interest!
Hi, when I first thought about getting an offset mortgage, I made a simple excel sheet to work out if it would be beneficial. For the calculations, I made some estimations, and literally added the daily interest every day. 3 years later, and my tracker deal is coming to the end. I've revisited my spreadsheet, and input all…

Nationwide Overpayment reserve?
Hi Quick question, i'm currently with Nationwide on one of their fixed products, where you can overpay £500 each month. Done this for a while now and notice it seems to go in a pot as an overpayment reserve. Presumably this gets knocked over the overall mortgage amount? Think it's approx about £6k ish. Cheers

Remortgage/Valuation issue
I've just applied to remortgage with ING. Think that might have been my first mistake and the Woolwich might have been a better bet with their lifetime tracker. Done now so will just have to live with it and be prepared to remortgage again soon if ING's rates go up drastically. I take it you can remortgage as soon as you…

The less you earn the more you pay???
I’ve just been playing round with the mortgage search engine on moneysupermarket.com and it would appear that if I earned an extra %k I’d be eligible for cheaper mortgage products. The only detail I change is my salary (up it 5k to 25k) and seemingly my current provider (Northern Rock) will offer me a product which is £100…
