Recommendation for current phone deal please!
Hi, Basically its for my father, he needs minutes and not texts. Currently he is on o2's PAYG tarriff and spends about £20 a month. o2 will not allow him the 100 minutes that many PAYG customers get as his sim is 'not compatible' and the phone is really old. So basically he's after a really cheap contract which gives him…

I am on 11 months free line rental on a 12 month contract on orange to orange off peak, my cashback claims are shown as month 4, 8 & 12… £20 per month paid as line rental x 11 = £220 divide this by 3 claims and I should receive £73.33p per claim. I made my 1st cashback claim at month 4 , I have now received a cheque off…

Beware when starting contract with Vodafone
If you have just joined Vodafone, read this and watch that you don't get caught out! I recently signed a contract with Vodafone on Anytime 75 contract. change-over date from Orange was on the 31st July and this went through fine. I naturally assumed that my 75 minutes per month would start from the 31st July and run…

Are all O2 phones unlocked?
I heard from a friend that any O2 phone you buy is always unlocked to all networks. Is this true? I have just recently got an O2 phone from mobileshop and it was indeed unlocked but I put that down to good luck.

O2 Free Sims clarification
Could someone just clarify something for me? On the O2 free sims, it says that you cannot carry over texts or minutes to the next month. Does that mean that if you had topped up by £10, but had only used free texts/minutes, you would still have £10 credit the following month? How long does the credit remain valid for?…

Birthday present for a teenager
My son's birthday is next week and he wants a new mobile (of course!). Not sure whether to buy the phone upfront while staying on the current PAYG system (which usually entails me topping up his phone in return for chores that never actually get done  ) or get a free/cheap phone on contract. Any suggestions??

So, with 0844calls and 3 pay, could I earn myself 1p/min?
I saw a poster in Superdrug today for a 3 plan that pays you 5p a minute for incoming calls. In that I can make a mobile call for 4p/minute through 0844calls, does this mean I could earn myself 60p and hour? And exactly how sad would that make me?

(This time, I'll actually press submit before I time out!) I've spent most of the day investigating this one, had a chat with ICSTIS and watchdog.
