ISA Transfers and Addresses
Hello. I have an old ISA that has been attracting a pitiful interest rate for far too long now, so I've decided to transfer it to another provider. The only issue is that the old ISA was opened when I lived at my parents' address, whereas I now live at a different address. Does anyone know whether it is necessary to…

New ISA, Transfers and Loan - which is best?
Hi, I am hoping to get some suggestions from the forum on what I could do with my money. I have a Cash ISA which has one year's maximum allowance. Soon, I will have cash available to fill next year's allowance. I know that businesses seem to want new customers instead of rewarding existing ones because there are several…

ISA maturity funds reinvested.
I have had two fixed rate ISAs mature this year with different companies. The funds - around £10.000 each - have been put into 1 year fixed rate ISAs. What I want to know, is, can I open another ISA with the allowance for 2013-14? Or is that too much to hope for? :)

Lloyds TSB "Remaining allowance"
Hello, I have a Cash ISA account that I have open years ago and didn't really keep track with it. I currently have £3700 on it and, on the Lloyds TSB website, I am told that the "Remaining allowance" is £5760. I am a bit confused by this - does it mean I can put £5760 more on the account (for a total of £9460)? Or is it…

Cavendish charges
Can anyone advise me where I will be able to see the charges levied on my Cavendish ISA. I know, in general, that charges are confusing and levied in different ways and also that there have been recent changes but, simply, will I be able to see the charges set out somewhere at all? This is particularly aimed at someone…

lewismorris
Last year just before the end of 2012/13 year (April) as Martin suggested we bought two ISAs for £2.500 each. Then we decided we could afford to put in another £2.500 and found Halifax had dated our 2012/2013 ISAs for 2013/2014. We were told that we couldn't invest in two more for the balance allowed - but had to wait for…

Silly question for "no transfer" ISA
This is the first year I've been putting cash into an ISA. The account is less than a year old so I'm looking at where to put it for the end of this years financial year (so it isn't as I understand it, strictly a transfer? If I move money out to pay in elsewhere does the taxman instantly get his slice?). Is moving money…

Bonus payment question.
I want to transfer existing ISA money to a new ISA. This new ISA has a bonus for 12 months which is paid on 5th April. My confusion is this... if I were to start this new ISA today (16th March) and then switched it in a years time once the Bonus rate finishes (so next year on 16th March) to a different ISA account, how do…

Interest paid when?
Any advice appreciated. We have £20,000 to invest, but only for 4 months. We haven't used our allowance for this tax year. Some isas seem to pay interest on 5th April. Surely we can't just put our full allowance in now and receive interest on it all? Would it be better to set up isas that pay monthly interest?

My cash ISA interest rate has dropped after one month
Hi all, I'm fairly new to ISAs so wonder if anyone could answer a question I have. I opened a new cash ISA with Darlington Building Society one month ago, which at the time had a pretty generous rate of interest at 1.7%. However, I have noticed today that the rate has dropped to 1.3%. Does this mean that I am only earning…

Had ISA account closed, can I open another this tax year?
Hi, I opened an eISA with Virgin in January of this year. At the end of February this year they closed the account and transferred my deposits back to me. I phoned Virgin and they told me it's because they didn't receive the proof of identity I sent and they had no choice because of strict anti-laundering regulations. I…

S&S ISA cash-based fund recommendation?
My elderly mother-in-law has only used her cash ISA allowance for the last few years. I am wondering if we can find a suitable fund for her to use her S&S ISA allowance. She is liable for tax so this could be beneficial. Due to her age, we need to use a very cautious fund. I am wondering whether there are cash-based funds…

Sheffield Mutual 5.5% Investment ISA
I'm looking to open an ISA but am somewhat risk averse so have previously steered away from things like stocks & shares ISAs. However I've seen Sheffield Mutual promoting their 5.5% Investment ISA as "providing investors with an alternative to cash but without the same degree of risk and volatility you would associate with…

I am getting fed up of opening different ISAs with different banks every year. There are all the account numbers, passwords, user names, memorable information, security questions etc etc to remember! The idea was to combine them all in one place eventually, even if they started off in diff places but it isn't working out!…
