Santander 2 year Fixed rate ISA_2012-14
Can anyone tell me if this ISA (you know the one where they offered .1% bonus if Rory won a major) allows transfers in? Also I can't remember the terms, does it track the bank of England rate?(currently .5%) Is it also possible to transfer an ISA if opened this ISA year before it matures next April?

Take money out of an ISA
Hi, I have an ISA in Santander with a bonus that expires in July, then the interest drops to 0.5%. I have another one in HSBC with a much better interest, but it does not allow transfers. Would it be ok to take the money out of the Santander ISA , put it in my current account and then transfer it to the HSBC as "new"…

Moving a S&S ISA for a newbie
Bit of background: I've been investing £50/month into a L&G Stocks & Shares ISA, investing in the UK All-share Index since 2009. Although not much of an investment, it has yielded quite a nice return over the years. Current Goal: I'm now in a position where I'd like to build up a portfolio across several index funds and…

Cash ISA Transfers, is this a 'new' account or not?
Sorry if this seems a bit obtuse but I have a query about Cash ISA transfers. I did this some years ago and then the ‘new’ provider did all the work with no problems. However, now I notice that a ‘new’ provider expects you to open as ISA with a zero balance before you can transfer in an existing Cash ISA. Does this not…

Do ISAs *not* pay interest on transferred-in balances?
Hi there, Last financial year (2012-2013) I opened a Santander ISA rated the best for the first year interest rate by MSE, and transferred the balance of my existing ISAs with other suppliers over to it. I did not make any new payments into my ISA during this financial year as times were tight. I was under the impression…

isa rules clarification please
If I invest £1000 now in a cash isa with provider "A" but then later within this tax year I transfer the isa to provider "B", can I then invest the rest of my isa allowance with provider "B"? Or does that count as investing in two isas within one tax year - which I thought was not allowed? Jane

Isa interest
This is probably a stupid question but here it is: I opened a 2 yr fixed rate ISA with Santander in April 2012 £5640.00 at 4%. Got a summary for Apr 12 to May 13 showing interest of £6.16p. Why didn't I get 4% of £5640.00? i.e. £225.60 Asked Santander via my online a/c but they say they can't discuss this, I will have to…

Non tax payer should I keep my ISA
Having reached the grand old age of 65 I have been told by HMRC that I no longer have to pay tax, I have £698 of tax free allowance left. As I have £9000 in ISA's at very low interest would I be better putting the money in an ordinary savings account?

Displaying online the amount paid in/remaining amount available
Until this month I had only had ISA's with FD. My online ISA statement displayed clearly the amount paid in so far in the current tax year and the remaining amount available to me. I have just switched to a new Virgin Isa and have found that they don't do this. I rang them today to query why. i was told that they are…

Fixed term with a bonus and a fixed maturity date?
I'm not sure I understand some of the rules about fixed term cash ISAs. Several of these seem to have a specific maturity date... e.g. Leeds BS says 2 year fixed term matures on 30 April 2015 at which point it goes into an instant access ISA (presumably paying little or nothing). So if I put the money in during October…

Halifax Interest Incorrect
Just a heads up as we've found we've been underpaid on our ISA interest. Specifically this relates to ISA opened in April 2012 under the Halifax "Price Promise" whereby they guaranteed that interest would be applied from the date of application although there may be a delay in getting funds transferred from the previous…

Incorrect ISA advice given by bank.
Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes: In May 2011 I had built up some savings whichI thought would be better off in an ISA so I opened one with the Bank ofScotland and utilised my full ISA allowance straightaway. The following April(2012), the interest earned was added into the account and I went into my…
