First year of ISA
Hi, I currently have the maximum £3k in my mini-cash ISA and hope to put in a similar amount in the next tax year. I have read the FAQs but would like some further clarification. I understand I am able to keep the exisiting £3k in the account and then add up to £3k the following tax year. Will the exisiting £3k still earn…

Ruffler ISA raise rate to 5.93% AER
Got a leaflet from Ruffler Bank today. As from 18th Jan, they are raising the rate of their 30day notice ISA to 5.93AER (5.8% gross as they pay interest 4 times a year). Only catch is minimum balance of £15K, but accept transfers of ISA's and/or Tessas

What happens to ISAs when you move abroad?
I am a German national but a UK resident, hence I do have savings and an ISA here. What will happen to them if I decide to move back to Germany? Does the ISA have to be cashed in and can I keep my other current/savings accounts or is that only possible with an English address? Same with my boyfried if he came over with me,…

Transfer Stocks & Shares ISA
I have a stocks & shares ISA with the HSBC. I used to have a mini cash ISA but transfered it to a provider with a better interest rate. I suspect that the HSBC isn't giving me the best deal with my stocks & shares ISA but I don't know how to make comparisons. The statements they send through are so complicated - I can't…

From one ISA to another
Hi guys, I currently have an ISA which I have had for about 3 years with Alliance and Leicester and I don't believe I am getting the best interest rate. What would the procedure be to get a new ISA? Would I have to close the ISA completely then set up a new one somewhere else once this tax year has expired? Or is there any…

Quick ISA transfer questions
Hi, I am after a couple of answers regarding transferring my ISA account. I currently have one with RBS which has a balance of a mighty 67p! However I have had money in an out over the year, so can only put a further £1350 in this year. I have a large amount that I want to save, and am going to use the 'fountain' system…

ISA's - clarification please
Good Morning, I have just under 30K to invest. I would like to place these in an ISAm but have a few questions first: I believe that you can put in 3K per year, but can I also open 3 more accounts in my husbands and childrens names, and put 3k in each of those and another 3k in April? If I open accounts in my childrens…

Removal of Mini/Maxi ISA distinction
Am I right in thinking that if & when this comes in, my Mini and Maxi S & Shares ISAs held via Hargreaves Lansdown will become one stocks and shares pot and I can then change my standing order (which now funds the Maxi only) to fund those funds in the old style Mini pot as well? Do we know when it comes in - is it from…

How do I find a top-notch IFA?
One of the IFA's has given me some superb off-line general ISA related advice - but he's based miles away from me. I want to take this further - my intention is to split a current £18K ISA investment via Fidelity's fund network (ISA supermarket) in the hope of increasing the value of my investment. My 'current' IFA - the…

Possible to have 2 ISA?
I opened a 1K ISA at Yorkshire last August, went there today and asked if I can put another 2k. She said I have to wait till this August to be able to put a maximum of 3k in an ISA. So, is it possible to put 2k in another ISA? Is it worth it? I would have to wait till next January to be able to withdraw or put in another…

Maxi Isa query
This may be a daft question so I do apologise if that is the case, but I still hold 500 Northern Rock shares from when they became a bank and was wondering if there is any benefit from, or if you actually can, put these shares as part of a maxi isa. Sorry again if it is a stupid question.

Confusion over yearly £3000 ISA limit
Hi guys. I'm jut thinking of opening up an ISA. One thing I don't get is this £3000 max per year. If I put £3000 in now, then in april, when the year restarts, can I put more money on top of that? i.e. £3010...£3250...etc up to a max of £6000 until the next April? Are there different rules for different companies/banks?…
