Underhand Selling Techniques
My other half's dyspraxic, he gets terribly confused by bank statements. When he switched to online statements 2 months ago, he noticed that a private medical insurer has been taking direct debits of about £8 per month out of his bank account for the last 3 years. At no point has he ever knowingly ordered private health…

Maybe someone can help
I bet this will fare in the "!!!!!! request of the month" category. Right: my car insurance is up for renewal, and I decided to move to a new (cheaper) insurer. Was on a 10 month accelerator plan. So, on expiration I requested my previous insurer to issue a proof of NCB, for me to have on file. Of course, when signing the…

Car Insurance Claim Advice......
just hit my wifes car in side with my car. Rather than notifying my insurance (no damage to my car) and her claiming on her hers would I be better claiming on her insurance (I a named driver) and saying I hit bollard going into carpark. That surely mean that only one insurance affected claims/excess etc?

How much does occupation alter your policy?
Hello!! Perhaps this is a question for those "in the industry". How does your occupation affect your policy? I accept that some occupations may travel more than others etc. but I don't want business cover and my occupation tends to fall into a number of categories. I can (legitimaly!) call myself a civil servant,…

Direct Line and Flood Insurance
Hi, applying for Direct Line home insurance it wants me to state that there has not been a flood within 250yards of the property. There is a small river 150yards away and looking at the enviroment agency flood info the river has indeed flooded but not in the direction of the house. Do I assume that Direct Line will not…

should i cancel insurance
Hi, I was sold decreasing level term assurance with my mortgage in 2002, but think it may be quite expensive. It was only a top up on other life cover as i'd increased the mortgage so it just covered the increase - £50,000. It has critical illness included and cost £18 ish per month. I was thinking of cancelling it and…

This year they wrote and said I had to phone or write to them to say I didn't require it for next year otherwise they would automatically withdraw the money and issue the insurance. Can they legally withdraw this premium without my…
