Window installer not using scaffolding
I am currently having some new windows and paid £300 extra for having scaffolding put up above our conservatory. The window installer told me he didn't need scaffolding and has fitted the window (very well I might add) without any scaffolding. Can I withdraw £300 from the final payment due to scaffolding not being used?

Tumble Dryer in Tight Space
I've just bought a new tumble dryer to fit in a 600mm cabinet space under the worktop. The machine is about 595mm wide, so there's very little space at the sides. There is a gap of about 150mm between the top of the machine and the worktop. The air intake vent is on the left hand side of the machine, so I'm concerned that…

We've decided to replace our Miele vacuum cleaner which is > 15 years old and we like the idea of the cordless ones, especially to do the stairs. Reading reviews it looks the best one is the Dyson Absolute V8 but at almost £400 is a bit expensive, but then the Shark also gets really good reviews at half the price (and it…

Urgent: Patio door jammed locked
The door from our living room to our garden is an older sliding door, aluminium frame. It has a round key to lock and unlock it, and above the handle with the keyhole is a little slider which can be moved from right to left and back.
