coving joints very obvious - how to hide?
The coving in my house is not put up very well. In the lounge-diner there are 7 joins in the middle of walls (only 2m coving was used, not 3m), and 8 corners. The coving is the plaster-covered-in-paper kind. 7 of the corners are fine, but the 8th is MILES out. Is this likely to be due to shoddy workmanship or the…

Sony DVD recorder error message
My Sony RDR-HX725 dvd recorder has worked perfectly for 15 months but now on startup shows a message "HDD error" and will then not respond to any commands. Only way to shut it off is by the mains plug. Are there any special start procedures or is it destined for the knackers yard? I've tried the disconnect from the mains…

Currys install has wrecked my floor
Following the demise of our old washing machine we went to Currys to get a new one (Miele W3470 if anyone is interested - bit pricey, but excellent results). We went for their install and remove service as we don't drive ourselves and disposing of the old w/m would have otherwise been problematical. Anyhoo, the installer…

I would like an antique cream (but not a distressed look - just plain). I don't want it to be glossy, but then not too matt looking either. I have 2 bedside…

mouldy wooden floor - advice needed!!
Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me. We recently had a leak in our bathroom ceiling; the walls have since dried out and been repainted, all good. Tumbledrier recommendations?
I need to buy a tumbledrier as its costing me a fortune at the laundrette. It needs to be able to take kingsized bedding and be a condenser one as there's nowhere to put it where we could have a vent hose to outside. Can anyone recommend one? Preferably fairly cheap as it will be paid for with cash!
