Moving into Rental before Completion
All, We have exchanged on our house sale with a completion date of 14th August. We are moving into a rental and would ideally like to sign the contract and pay deposit etc on the 8th. Is this advisable? What are the chances of the sale falling through now that we have exchanged? Thanks!

Break clause
I've been renting a flat with my girlfriend for the past two years. We have always paid our rent on time and have kept the property in good condition. Our contract is up in October and our estate agents have contacted us to ask if we would like to re-sign. They say that the landlord would like us to sign a 12 month…

Whose Name to Buy In?
Hi, I'm moving cross country for a postgraduate degree and my mother suggested buying rather than renting; she owns a house outright and rents it out so has been able to remortgage with a buy-to-let fairly easily, and I have a job in place so I can essentially pay her the mortgage straight away (and of course we'll be…

Basically his credit is a mess but mine is completely clean. We have no debts and have just got married and would really like to buy our own home. Possible damp problem?
We have recently looked at a property we are keen on, but spotted a few potential issues. It is a semi detached sandstone barn conversion. On the living room wall there appear to be signs of paint bubbling a few feet up. It doesn't look too bad, there are no obvious damp patches/tide marks or mould. The corresponding…
