BTL / HMO companies...dodgy?
Ive seen a few companies offering investments in Buy to Let properties that are HMOs - I guess usually student houses. They offer good returns and they manage your property, plus you own the freehold....so whats the catch? Does anyone have experience in these schemes - anecdotal or actual, just wondering! thx

I am moving overseas for 3-6 years with work. Not sure what to do with my house. Should I rent it out and slowly pay off some of the mortgage or should I sell it. If I sold it I would look to buy a smaller property mortgage free and then rent that out. We are not sure we want to move back into our current house. Anyone got…

Can I find out what the other freeholders paid for the freehold?
So, I am an owner of a leasehold flat in London which is in a Victorian conversion with four other flats. Just before I bought the flat, the other flat-owners bought the freehold. My seller wasn't involved and it was a mildly complicated purchase without going down the route of becoming a freeholder at the time. With the…

House Buying - STUC acronym
Hi, I have seen in the descriptions of many property listing the acronym "STUC", this appears to be in relation to extensions/planning. For example: "The Property offers much potential for an extension (STUC)" or "Potential To Extend (STUC)". Does anybody know what this acronym stands for? Thanks in advance. Mills303

Length of time on market
How would you deal with a property you wanted that had only been on the market a week, with a couple of viewings as far as you know? One property has been on for a fixed price for 9 months, and our limit would be 5% less than this fixed price, hoping to get it for less. Another, cheaper, property has been on the market for…
