A little complicated but need advice. LL agreed to do work on house in april, including new bathroom, kitchen, redecoration. Work on bathroom started at end of august. I agreed to stay with family as would have no bathroom. Realistically thought it would take 3-5 days. I have since handed in notice on property and moved…

Advice re return of deposit
Have posted previously about DD's rubbish LL & agent and they seem to be having one last throw of the dice. DD shared a house at uni with 4 others the deposit being £1000 taken when they signed the contract December 2010 to move in July 2011. Obviously the deposit was £200 each and DD paid one of the other student's…

Unilateral option to purchase
I am trying to purchase a repossessed property and during the searches it has come to light that there is a unilateral option to purchase notice registered at the Land Registry. At the moment I have no details as to what the notice is for. Assuming it is valid what does this mean and what is the legal position? Does the…

How long does it take to get the leasehold property management information?
Hi all. Had an offer accepted on a flat mid July. My solicitor tells me that we can't exchange contracts until they get the management information pack (from the freeholder I presume) from the seller's solicitor. I was told that on 23 August and nothing has changed since then. Should I be getting worried? Cheers.

Cosmetically the house is exactly the same as it was when I moved in, if not better. I am worried about a few little things though…

Apologies if this has been asked before but I'm having a slight issue with the standing order that was set up to pay my rent. I signed documents on 23.07.12 and moved in to the flat on the same day. Need Advice to Avoid Repossession
We have managed with difficulty to let out the property I used to live in before I got married and bought a family home. The area the property is in has had social problems in the last few years and as a result my property is in negative equity and people are reluctant to rent there. We simply cannot afford to pay both…

Damp issues - Freeholder liable?
My boyfriend purchased his flat around 8 years ago. His is the basement flat in a four story house converted into flats. This was the freeholder’s family home at some point so he would know about issues in the property. There is a storage area in the flat which leads on to a room that is now used for an office. The storage…

Buy To Let Question
Hi All, We have recently accepted an offer on our property and subsequently had an offer accepted on a property ourselves. It turns out that our purchasers have ground to a halt with the underwriters, and they are not terribly forthcoming with why that is. I have asked the EA to contact them and ask them for: - The reason…
