Can I rent to DSS if I know the person ?
My newphew and his girlfriend have a one year old boy and she lives in a one bedroom flat which is paid for by the DSS. She has been trying for a house for ages, but can't get one. If I purchase a property, can I rent to her and have the DSS pay rent to me ? I would be grateful for any advice, thanks.

Are Estate Agents supposed to sell houses?
I ask this because we've looked round a house this morning, with a view to buying (as you do ;) ). We're FTBs, so not looking at the more extensive and expensive houses, but nevertheless we're looking to spend MONEY. This EA in question didn't try to sell the house, she was particularly disinterested and just walked round…

Put pressure on your Estate Agent but how?!
I keep reading to put pressure on your estate agent so it's our property that is fresh in their mind etc but how exactly do I do this - what should I be asking? I think I'm just too polite, but I ask how it's going and hit a bit of a brick wall. Could do with some ideas! They already ring with feedback after each viewing…

House Prices Debate
Many have views on house prices - some say up - others down. It's an interesting debate. The truth is no one knows, but many have well thought through opinions. Disturbingly I see some rather agressive 'factions' being drawn up on these issues. I would llove people to debate, passionately what will happen, showing…

FTB underpinning dilemma
I had an offer accepted on a 2 bed victorian terrace a couple of months ago. Paid for a full survey which revealed that there had been some structural work (including underpinning). It also said there was no sign of movement now. I passed it on to my solicitor to chase up the paperwork. It seems he did nothing until I…
