Dental Advice - NHS or Private? Do I need work? Don't I? Confused!
Ok, I should probably start with the slightly ironic fact that I work for the NHS in the PCT :rotfl: Now that the slightly 'funny' bit is out of the way, let's talk about my extreme distress with my teeth! I'll tell a story, as that's probably easier... I think the last time I went to a dentist was when I was 16/17. I'm…

It works on nerve endings and its like the osteopath and chiropractor but less brutal. The person who told me about it wasn't sure on the spelling and seeing as i have tried to…

"Late-onset anorexia" - does it exist? / what to do?
... Or is this just a term I have made up, as it seems to fit what is happening to a friend of mine? The background: One of my friends - who is in her late 50's - has been eating very little recently, and says that she is "creating a state of famine for her body" I think it might be related to the aging process, as…

Sore tooth
My daughter had her first filling about 5 months ago (she's 15), ever since then, the tooth that was worked on, has been painful for her, she now avoids eating on that side and says that if a drink goes on it, it feels like it's 'soaking it up'. We did go back to the dentist, she said she can see nothing wrong, took x rays…

Save on Cosmetic Cotton Pads
Not only is using all those cotton cosmetic pads wasteful to the environment, you need to keep buying a new lot every couple of months. The solution is to use reusable pads. The Body Shop have some here or you can make your own out of old t-shirts or face cloths etc. I just like the body shop ones because they have a…

Dry Shampoo
I'm not sure about you but I couldn't live without spray in Dry Shampoo to keep my hair fresh between washes (and for those crazy, "help! I'm due at work in fifteen minutes and my hair looks like I poured chip fat on it!" moments. However, I found that it was costing me a small fortune and so.. I've discovered that if you…

Eye tests - complex presciptions
I need to get some new glasses soon as my old ones are the wrong prescription (last time I had them tested one of them had improved, so these are now too strong, but I didn't bother getting new ones as I only wear them indoors). Anyway, I qualify for free tests due to having a complex prescription but I can't remember what…
