Worm compost
I will shortly harvest my first batch of worm compost. Have to persuade the worms to migrate into the next bin first. Would putting old container soil in and mixing their dinner into it be a good idea? The compost they have made is beautiful stuff, in so far as one can ascribe beauty to such a thing. No worms!
I never ever see any worms in my garden and don't know whether this is a good thing. I have been adding organic matter in the form of compost to my patch and the soil structure is well improved. Should I see about 'importing' some worms?
Weed, feed and mosskiller
Found this (actually 1kg tub) in Poundstretcher today. Good for 30 sq m and only £2.49. Most packs of this stuff seem huge, which is a waste if you only have a small lawn
Grass growing through plants
How do I stop this happening? The grass is all around them and through them and with some of them, it’s so bad, I can hardly see the plant anymore. I think one has stopped growing because of it. I don’t know what to do. I can’t spray weed killer because that will kill the plants too!
