Standard Rosemary
I have a lovely standard rosemary, around 4ft tall in a large pot. It was leaning so badly I straightened it out, earlier this year, and took care not to disturb the roots. It now looks as if it is dying. Are there any things I can do to it to improve its chances of recovery?

How late dare I leave picking my outdoor tomatoes?
Despite being a seasoned tomato grower I have this debate with myself every year, and have never previously left it later than the last week-end in September. But it's so gloriously warm out there at the moment I'm procrastinating as I still have loads of green fruit on the plants. Have all you outdoor growers picked them…

Cut your grass quicker for cheaper
I know its the end of summer... but - I was cutting my grass and I snapped the last of my lawnmower blades (they were expensive too!) In desperation I had to find something (i didn't want to walk to the shop) - I found some strimmer wire (a huge reel of it only cost me a pound or so) - The lawnmower uses screws to hold the…

I would like to do something with…

Greenhouse on allotment/vandelism question
Hello, I'm thinking of getting some kind of greenhouse for my allotment, but it's a small site (just 6 really small plots), right in the heart of a rough area so I'm quite paranoid about it getting damaged. I was going to buy a cheap plasticy one to start with to see how I get on with that. Just wondered if anyone with…

This year I grew 5 tomato plants, 2 from seed, 1 from a shop and 2 were gifts. One of them has produced the most amazing tasting mini plum toms and I really want more for next year. The problem is this plant was a gift and no-one has a clue what variery it is. So is it as simple as slicing one open, removing the seeds,…

Gardener's quote - any ideas?
We need a moderate amount of garden clearance done as a one-off job. Would anyone have any idea about what would be a reasonable quote? There is a years old growth of thick and tangly ivy over a fence which needs clearing and uprooting if possible, certainly killing. There is also a dark and damp corner of the garden which…
