Can i plant Ivy around the base of a Cordyline?
hiya,
my mum is wanting to plant a bit of ivy around the base of a well established cordyline that we have in a container, to 'hide' the soil
i think it will start to strangle the cordyline once it gets itself tucked in...
any advice???

Try it. There's no likelihood of the ivy strangling the Cordyline providing the ivy is "steered" away from it as it grows. The most likely problem is that the plants will compete for nutrients.0

Yes as long as you keep an inch or two clear around the base of the trunk they should happily co-habitate0
