Elon Musk Reveals The Solar Roof & Powerwall 2
I'm a Tesla Model 3 reservation holder and a huge fan of Elon Musk and what he's trying to achieve. Solar City / Tesla have just announced the Powerwall 2 and Solar Roof tiles. Not too much detail on pricing etc. yet but its an excellent idea and hope it is picked up around the world.…

Smart-performance
Hi, anyone else had a cold call from this company ? They phoned me today, following up a lead from a solar quote that I had done about 4 years ago..... :rotfl: need I say more ? anyway, the claim is that they can save you money (!) by redirecting the excess production over 3.68 Kw to "protect" from panel degradation....…

Project solar experiences..???
Hi All, first up I know this has been covered a little earlier in the year, but just wondered if anyone has any experiences of 'project Solar' they can share. We've just had 'Surveyor/Sales' bloke over to do his bit, ands although the figures as regards savings etc. all sounded great.. I constantly seemed to hear alarm…

Excess solar power
What do you do with it?. I have a diverter so get a tank or two of hot water per day, all battery powered stuff charged, but still end up sending loads back to the grid. Any ideas for other uses?. Can I connect something else to the second output of my iboost?. Would an oil filled radiator be suitable to be directly wired…

Has anybody tried combining solar panels with Stoozing?
Hi all, I have a non-shaded, south-facing roof crying out for solar panels. I'm keen to get them installed, primarily for environmental reasons, but I don't have the cash to buy them outright. I don't think I'd have a problem in getting credit, so I've started wondering about whether a "Solar Stooze" would work: buy the…

Used lever arch files, etc. Who would take them?
The organisation I work for is currently going through a big change in office layout. This involves a big clear out of unnecessary paper files. Some of the other floors have already gone through the process and there were skiploads of A4 ring binders, lever arch files, document wallets, filing trays... you get the picture.…

Ground fridge root cellar
I saw this today and thought it would be a great idea for storing the excess produce from our allotment (plus a few bottles of home made wine ;) ). http://www.treehugger.com/kitchen-design/get-back-your-roots-groundfridge-prefab-root-cellar.html It's a little expensive, but it does seem to deal with condensation and vermin…

Tessa Power Wall
One for Martyn I guess, as he has experience of multiple orientation solar arrays.... I was looking at expanding our solar installation by adding panels to a couple of buildings in the garden. I estimate that I could get 1.8kw on one building and maybe 0.5kw on another. They face in different orientations and have…

Solaredge Monitoring
So yesterday the monitoring by panel was switched on (icon wasn't showing in my app). I find it fascinating looking at what each panel is doing in terms of output. There's a little bit of variation across the panels i.e. some of the panels appear to perform better than others. Another question, what's an acceptable…
