Npower v Powergen - confused
I am currently with Powergen, but due to the increases I have been looking at changing supplier. I have gone via the links on the main site and have quotes from Energylinx, UK Power, Simply Switch, Uswitch, Energyhelpline and Saveonyour bills. All brought up Npower Online (paying monthly DD) as the cheapest option by…

Martin!time To Act!
love this site M. but all of us i am sure are united by the need to base our spending decisions on honest information. Sadly, you are falling foul of the comparison services. You claim 5 minutes is all that is required to find the cheapest supplier. but that appears to be untrue (i've spent over an hour just reading all…

Are London Energy at it?
I changed to LE at the start of the year via USwitch website. They have now given me a six month review and tried to double all my payments (gas & elec). The unit prices they are quoting on the bills is not what we agreed - which should be the online tarriff. After I had moved I phoned to confirm what I was paying. LE…

British Gas Paperless Billing
2 years ago I decided to register with Bristish Gas as a Paperless Bill customer. This meant that I would no longer receive my bills in the post but would be notified on-line when a new bill was ready to view & print off if required. As a reward for saving paper, customers would receive £5 off their bill each year. If you…

Onetel
I always thought Onetel were supposed to send me an e-mail every month to advise me of a bill available for viewing online. Only been with them for 3 months and no e-mail for the last 2 months. Waste of space.:wall: I've now sent them an e-mail to let them know that they are not up to their advertised standard, and if they…

British Gas Pre-payment Meter
Hi I have heard that it is more expensive to have a pre-payment gas meter. Can anyone confirm this please? Also, how complicated is it to get off the meter and onto a normal meter with DD payments? Of course, while I have a pre-payment meter I can't shop around for the best deals for gas and electric (the electric is on DD…

Uswitch calculator is wildly inaccurate
Has anyone else found this? I really cannot be bothered with utilities switching because quite frankly the grief makes it not worth it. Last year we moved and we got 'final' electricity bills based on the gas meter reading, two successive 'final' bills two days apart for hundreds of pounds, a bill for 3,000 pounds based on…

instant shower costs and teenage son
My leccy bill is hitting the roof and I'm pretty sure it's down to teenage son using the shower (rated 8.2 Kw I think) for hours at a time, usually when there's no one around to bash on the door and tell him to get out:mad:. He isn't in a position to contribute to the bills at the moment. I could throw him out but that's a…

Until very recently my gas bill from Powergen stated that my gas transporter was Transco.
