Npower v Powergen - confused
I am currently with Powergen, but due to the increases I have been looking at changing supplier.
I have gone via the links on the main site and have quotes from Energylinx, UK Power, Simply Switch, Uswitch, Energyhelpline and Saveonyour bills. All brought up Npower Online (paying monthly DD) as the cheapest option by approx £145-£161 per year.
I then went to Npower's site and their quote was £145 cheaper (paying by DD) than I am paying now with Powergen. (I just pay my bils when they come now, not DD)
The problem I have is I have noticed in recent posts that although NPower is quoted as cheaper than Powergen it is not actually cheaper. Can anyone give me any positive feedback for Npower? There does seem to be feedback on Npower but it does not seem positive and I am wary of making the change until I get some positive feedback.
I did get a quote from Npower over the phone a while back (not for the online tarriff) and the saving was only approximately £50 a year and I decided to leave it. Then Powergen upped their prices hence why I am looking again.
Can anyone confirm if Npower have yet upped their prices or if not are they due to in the near future?
Thanks for any help.

I get out my crystal ball... and no sorry ... I don't know if npower or powergen or anyone else are about to change their prices! If your supplier does put up their prices, that's the time to look at switching anyway!
Regarding the Uswitch and other websites, the most important thing to check is that you have put as much info as possible in for your existing supplier ( especially the number of kilowatt hours you're using, both figures if you have a day/night meter) and look at how much your bills ARE at the moment, then look at the potential costs with other suppliers. If the savings are good, go for it!
Most important thing - check your meter reading matches to your bills at the moment, and another meter reading if you do change supplier - most of the nightmares we have (I work for an electricity supplier) are meter reading problems - if everyone took a meter reading at least once a year everything would be SO much easier!Indecision is the key to flexibility0
