Does carers allowance automatically continue when DLA is re awarded, or do we have to inform the carers dept. for the award to continue?

If a person's mobility needs have increased but their care needs have stayed the same, is it possible to just submit the mobility part for review as the care needs are the same, or would the whole award be looked at again? Thank you in advance.
