Cleared 90% of balance; how long till offered BT deal?
Hello all. I did ask this question in the 'Unofficial balance transfer for existing' thread, but I thought it may be worthy of it's own thread for those that are clearing balances and looking for answers on when they may then be offered a BT deal by that same provider. Basically, I had an £11,500 balance on my Barclaycard.…

Barclaycard Email - changes to interest rates - or phishing?
Just got an email from Barclaycard which has been rejected by my virus checker as a "phishing attempt". Looking at it via another route (but not clicking on links) it's about how they're going to link CC interest rates to the BOE base rate, starting in February 2016. The email seems in order, but has anyone else had this?

Quick question regarding balance transfers. My wife has a 2K debt outstanding on her CC that we have been paying off for a while now and the 0% deal on her card ends in February. She doesn't really want to apply for another 0% offer as she already has 2 other CC's(both with no balance) and we simply don't use them. Only…

Dollars. Change before I go or withdraw from ATM over there
Hi Travelling to New York on Tuesday and wondered if it's better for me to change the £1700 I have into dollars before I go or use the MBNA Amex card and withdraw the cash over there and use my savings to pay it off. Is there any benefit or better exchange rate by doing this?

AA 0% Purchase Credit Card - Hidden Costs!
The AA 0% purchase credit card seems like a good deal, but beware you have to jump through hoops to get it and pay up to nearly £16. This card is underwritten by Bank of Ireland and as part of their money laundering procedures they require certification of 4 separate documents to prove that you are who you say you are.…

A couple of weeks ago I tried to buy a camera on Jessops' website for £899. Clearly me but very much denied. Then today I notice three…

Barclaycard rate to be linked to the Bank of England base rate?
I've just had an email from Barclaycard telling me that from Feb 2016, the card interest rate will be linked to the Bank of England base rate: It seems to me like they're doing the same as the utilities! I notice how in these recent years of low rates that I cannot recall them lowering the rate. Now there's a chance though…
