Done a bal transfer to Barclaycard what is my % rate?
Hi there I did a BT to Barclaycard cos they were offering a good rate for the life of the balance (least I thought it was...lol) I've just looked at my online statement and it quotes an APR of 19.9%. Am I right in assuming that this is the normal "quoted" rate and not my "special" rate. If it helps, the balance on the card…

Monument have lowered my credit limit
I just got a letter today from Monument saying that 'as a responsible lender' they have decided to reduce my credit limit from £7000 to £6300. Apparently, 'this decision has been made based on your overall account usage and is not a reflection of your account status.' If they are so 'responsible' how comes they gave me a…

Applying for a lower credit limit
I have a couple of cards with a frankly frighteningly high credit limit, that have balances that are a lot less than the limit. I didn't apply for or expect such a high limit, but it they were raised automatically after I had the cards for a couple of years, I think they smelt blood when they saw I was only paying off the…

DOUBLE Natwest Credit Card late fee - £24 for 2 seconds
Natwest offered me a 9 months interest fee credit card. They wrongly charged me an activation fee, (but refunded when they agreed that was part of the offer). So, I transferred my balances and "took it to the limit" - well, to within £10. I made a payment, but guess what? I forgot about the bank holiday - so, because of…

My girlfriend's just been turned down for an MBNA credit card because they say she has no credit score. She has ordered her credit file and all that is on there is the fact that she is on the electoral role. She has banked with HSBC for 10 years and has a HSBC credit card but these don't show on her credit file. She works…

2% fee, Marbles offered me 0% until Feb
As the title of the thread says, Marbles last week offered me 0% with a 2% fee (uncapped) until Feb 2007. So this is about 5 1/2 months which makes the APR in that time approx 4.3%? Someone please confirm that for me. They sent me some credit card cheques which I know are frowned upon but some of them are ok, like the ones…

0% purchases - credit rating?
Say I had a credit card with 0% interest on purchases for the first 12 months. Say I bought something, then didn't pay it off for 6/7/8/whatever months. Obviously I am technically missing my payments, but because of the 0% deal I'm not accruing any charges. Would this adversely affect my credit limit?

Morgan Stanley new terms - cancelling
I see that now Morgan Stanley have changed their terms and conditions on the Platinum cashback card, it's time for me to ditch this card. They owe me a little more than the minimum £15 cashback payment. The new terms don't come into effect until 1st October, so can I ask for my initial £15-block of cashback and then cancel…
