Halifax reward account
Hello, Years back I used to have 3 x halifax rewards accounts and collect the £5 each month. I believe there was a change a few years back and that stopped so now I only get £3 on one of them per month. Possibly because you had to have 2 direct debits from each rather than just paying into them all which I used to do on a…

How do I get an "offline" card with Nationwide?
I opened a FlexDirect account with Nationwide mainly for the in-credit interest of up to £2,500. The card they sent me begins 4751 40 and appears to be an "all auth" card which connects to the bank at every transaction. How do I get the "offline" card with Nationwide? I have an account at Barclays with a card beginning…

Since all need you sign up I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as I would love to move away from doing the tedious monthly spreadsheet. They seem to be smart enough to compile…

Insane and urgent situation -- what are my rights?
I posted some months ago about an issue with a company called Go Cardless. In brief, Go Cardless collect Direct Debit payments on behalf of various companies in the UK. They then SUPPOSEDLY forward these payments onto said companies. When I moved into my current home I was instructed to sign up for a Direct Debit Mandate…

Received unexpected bank credit
I've received a BACS payment into my account this morning for £400 odd quid. I can only imagine it's an error as I'm not expecting the payment. I've phoned the bank to try and get further information about where it came from but they said they can't tell anymore than I can see on my statement as it's a BACS payment. All I…

Money taken from card 14 months after transaction
I have a prepaid Revolut card which I use for transferring funds from my bank account to and using when I am travelling. In September 2016 I used it to hire a car from Europcar in Italy but the payment of £197 only came off the card in November of 2017. As this is a prepaid card and I had used it overseas several times…

Online banking that does not allow transfers, only statements?
I'd love to have a current account that offers online statements (and more-or-less real-time transaction and balance data, ideally), but I'd also love to NOT have the ability to transfer money online, for security reasons. The same applies to all other online actions that might cost/lose me a lot of money. Do any banks…

Bank wants information to send to HMRC
My UK bank has written to ask me for information including my NI number and personal information, so that they can send it to HMRC. This is because I currently live overseas. I get that they are obliged to tell HMRC of any customers that live overseas, to assist with identifying those who might be trying to avoid paying…

Open banking - will it work for the consumer?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42553047 So basically open banking means that your banking history at the transaction level belongs to you and you can 'choose' to share it with other financial companies. Why would you choose to share this info? I guess the banks will offer bespoke deals a bit like having a 'black box'…

Lloyds bank paying in policy
I went to pay in to a friends account at the counter and the cashier said I could only use the instant paying in machine as it was now Lloyd's bank policy to not let non account holders to use the counter. I have done it many times at Lloyd's with no issue. Is this true or just an attempt to drive people away from counters
