Transferring money from China
Hi, We are getting married in July and my fiancee's dad has kindly offered to pay for the wedding venue and catering. He lives in China and we need to work out the best way for him to transfer the money (around 6k) to our account here. The only options I can think of are bank transfer (expensive) and paypal (expensive).…

Barclays Closing my bank without prior warning
Barclays have just told me that they closed my bank account. They had given me no warning. My wages should be going in tomorrow and I now wont be able to get paid. Can they do this? I was under the impression that they should give me 30 days notice in writing explaining why? Please can someone clarify this and if so where…

Why Do I Need A Bank BRANCH?
Why is it that in this computer age of centralised accounting, my bank (HSBC, but I'm sure it applies to others) still insists that my account be identified with a specific bank branch? I can deposit money at any branch I like ... I can withdraw money at any branch I like as well as numerous ATMs around the country. I…

Multiple Accounts At Same Bank.
Following on from the thread about the upside of multiple accounts, i am curious to see that some people have more than one of the same account at the same bank eg 3 flex accounts at Nationwide. This has got me thinking, how many of the same accounts do different banks allow? Can you have more than one step account at…

Nationwide - any good?
Hi My current bank is driving me up the wall due to their lack of security (changed my address without checking ID) and money being moved around accounts without my permission. I now have a mortgage with Nationwide and the offer of £75 to switch came up. I was wondering what peoples experience are of them? Thanks

Used overdraft, but limit is not updated
I have used my overdraft, and my balance is now negative. Online banking has updated to the latest balance. I expected this. My overdraft limit still shows the amount that I applied for . When I use my overdraft, shouldn't the overdraft limit change? I used up all my overdrat, and thought it would say £0. :o
