Fibre to premises? You're stuck with BT and no discounts
BT are currently offering affiliate discounts on their Infinity packages of £80 cashback, they have an £80 BT mastercard offer on their own site linked through and the monthly rate is £29.99 instead of £34.99. I went through the whole buying process to reach a page that said "unable to complete your order, please call us".…

Post office or Sky BB
Leaving BT after 5years (as they won't give me a decent deal as an existing customer) looking at the Post Office deal. "Up to 17Mbs", unlimited, inc. line rental, £20pm, fixed for 18months, weekend calls. Seems pretty good. Does anybody know differently?? Other option seems to be Sky. Similar deal, £18.99 (first year) +…

Virgin media
Recently I changed to Sky from Virgin for my TV & Broadband. When I phoned Virgin to confirm a months notice on the 19/06/17, I was told I would be charged £250 for coming out of my contract. You can imagine I was shocked. I had been with Virgin for a long time and there was no talk about a contract. I did phone Virgin on…

mobile BB vs Virgin
I am on a Virgin broadband only deal at 50 Mbps for £27.25 and my contract ends 8th September. I am wondering if an advanced mobile package from Three which has 'all you can eat data' for £24 a month would offer me a comparable experience. I also know that the Virgin price will go up dramatically for me unless I haggle,…

Why 30 days notice at end of contract?
Hi, My broadband contract with EE ends on 23rd August. I rang today to say I don't want it to continue past this date. I was informed I have to give 14 or 30 days notice so have to ring on one of these dates instead. Why is this? If it ends on a particular day and I want it ti finish, why can't I just inform them on any…

Leaving BT for Virgin Media
Apparently, if you want to leave BT without incurring a £31 disconnection charge you have to ask for a MAC code to give to your new provider. Only problem is that you can't use a MAC code if your new provider is a cable company, i.e., Virgin Media. Talk about a rip-off!! BT, never again... Phil.

BT Infinity early cancellation
Hi folks, I signed up to BT Infinity a few months ago and the line has been active for a month. I have no complaints, but the line speed is 40Mbps and I've just found out that Hyperoptic broadband is going live in my building next month. 100Mbps or 1Gbps here I come! There's just the matter of what will be the 10 months…

I recently spoke to Talktalk customer services via the webchat thingy on there site as I was unhappy with the price i was paying, somewhere in the region of £47.45 per…

Broadband best cheap provider
I know the cheaper suppliers are often reported as being rubbish with terrible customer service but I have reached the point where I have to leave virgin as they are getting far too expensive and refuse to give me a decent deal even after I threatened to leave. The ones I am considering are: Plusnet 38Mb Fibre 12 month…

BT Broadband (not fibre) cashback - link lost
Hello Hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction. On 4/7/17 I signed up to BT broadband (not fibre) and I understand it was about £25 a month then you get cashback and a pre-paid MasterCard you have to claim. However I now can't find the link as the website has been updated. Can we view archived versions…

Working out the costs of ditching Virgin service bundle
We currently have a Virgin package of phone tv and broadband (cable). The broadband package is a "bundle" consisting of Talk Evenings and Weekend, V+ HD box, Full House TV (XL) and Superfibre 60. This costs £71.46 per month. ( The fibre has just been upgraded to 100mb - I think at no extra cost but have yet to see latest…

BT Contract end
Having had many difficulties setting up BT last year it transspired that my phone line and tv 12months ends 9/8 and my broadband a month later. Presumably I can cancel both from the same date without being locked into further minimum terms? Want to cancel it all together to make it neat and tidy. If I then start it up…

Broadband without a Contract?
After receiving a terrible broadband service and another price increase with Virgin Media I have finally had enough. Today I terminated my services with Virgin Media with a 30 day notice. I am due to move into a new property within the next few months so I don't want to get a new contact with a new provider until after the…

Problem with transfer from BT to Plusnet
On 5th July I signed up with Plusnet for transfer of my fibre broadband and home phone. I've had confirmation of the home phone transfer from both of them, but not confirmation of the broadband transfer from BT. Last night I got a letter from BT saying that they were transferring my home phone but I'll still be charged for…

Gotadsl email
I have an old gotadsl email address inherited from Nildram and then TalkTalk. Until now I have received and sent emails through my IPad mail and MS mail but now they are both saying " The identity of pop3.gotadsl.co.uk cannot be verified........ unable to verify SSL server." Anyone any ideas?

Quidco and BT queries
I know that there is a sticky related to this but the lack of responses has prompted me to open a new thread. Previously I had BT in my name, ordered through my Quidco account and after a year I cancelled due to house move and my partner opened a BT account in her name (not through Quidco). Now, our 12 months is up in…

EE - Are they doing all they can?
I am writing to ask if there is something we could have asked for to prevent the situation we have been in for the past month. I have two children with ASD.., their main way of coping with stress, their 'safe place' if you like is browsing the internetwatching videos etc, I download and listen to a lot of TV shows, it…

Virgin connection is faulty, should I switch to BT/EE at lower speed?
Hi, I could use some advice here - I am on day 9 with no broadband, phone and television service from virgin media. An engineer came two days ago but couldn't fix it. I am now waiting for a senior technician, who's apparently coming in three days. This is the seventh time I've lost all service while living at this address…

Supanet Fibre Review
Hi All, I posted back in March this year about my new Supanet Fibre broadband 40Mb package and I am happy to report that I made the right choice. The speeds have been consistent even at peak times and the router has not skipped a beat with good wifi signals throughout the house. I would definitely recommend taking a look…
