I downloaded it yesterday. Will be travelling on Ryanair in October so will try it then. Mind you that will depend on feedback from other users posting here before then!

I dropped my phone in the check in queue and had a paper back up just in case. I never fly with out a paper back up or my boarding pass on somebody else's phone and vice versa.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

Such faith in the mobile phone.
    They never breakdown, of course.

Dare I say it but I think ryanair might be learning to 'not deliberately !!!! people off'

This is a pretty good compromise.

Also holiday I just took several people in my group were over the luggage allowance by ~1kg (which on a 15kg bag is rather a lot). Only one got fined and that was because 3kg over is taking it a little bit too far regardless of who you fly with!
  • There's a lot more to come from this app as well, including in-flight payments as they teamed up with PayPal earlier this year:

Next post follows in a moment ...
  • about time, £70 to check in at airport is just silly

    How very quaint.
The last time I or anyone I know checked in at an airport the Spice Girls were riding high in the charts and some gullible customers still thought airlines were meant to be loss-making businesses run for their convenience.
Ryanair created the template for cheap Europen air travel and since they re-invented the brand with its most recent makeover they're doing it all over again.
MOL is the greatest marketing genius of his generation.

Ryanair hasn't p!ssed me off once in hundreds of flights - but then I've followed their clear T&Cs to the letter and been rewarded with on-time flights consistently cheaper than any other airline has offered.
Now with this app travelling with them has got even easier although obviously some Luddites will still complain their boarding passes are not deliverered by courier on the morning of their flights along with a free hot coffee and fresh croissant.:rotfl:

With the advent of 3G it's pretty easy to checkin anywhere surely and much cheaper than £70.

Having said that I only fly full service airlines these days as heathrow is just down the road.

But if I did fly Ryanair I can't see how this app is anything but an enabler

There are a lot of negative reviews/comments on the Google play store Ryanair App 2 and a bit stars.

  • Has anyone used the app yet? I'm flying with Ryainair next week so downloaded it but it just keeps saying I have no bookings to manage. I wonder if you have to actually book your flights through the app to be able to do anything?
