I am looking for an insurance quote for my new car and going through different comparison websites, Quote me happy keeps coming with the best quote along with the extras I need (Legal cover, courtesy car..etc). Has any one used this company before and how would you rate it?

They are a division of aviva. Read up on aviva here and across the net to learn of their reputation!

Aviva make a big show of not being available via comparison sites. Yet this arm of aviva does use them. Cynical or what?

They are a cynical bunch - they foul up their reputation (when known as norwich union), change the name to Aviva, continue their ways (and tell us they are good cos they don't use comparison sites), then spring this new name on us via comparison sites!

Never used them, if you called them quote me silly number until i passed out from the giggles then that would be more appropriate.

But as with most companies they have their preferred client type and i obviously dont match that.

Quote Me Through The Nose more like, £4800 they quoted me on my car (worth £3000). My cheapest quote was £1000 from NFU Mutual. Needless to say Aviva kept ringing me asking if i was sure i didnt want to pay near £500 a month for insurance for 2 months...

Has anyone actually been quoted "happy" with them?? They are usually double for me on price with the lowest quote.

TBH though if you actually look at who the underwriters are for most of the insurers you may get a list of 20-30 on a comparison site but most of them are underwritten by only a handful of companies. They are pretty much all linked trading under different names.

More like Quote me Crappy in my experience.

Last time I tried to get a quote from them. I spent ages putting in all my details, claims history etc. etc. (ex long distance driver, so I had a few) got right to the end only to find that while they had my car available to select they didn't have any engines listed for it, just provided an empty drop down box, and it refused to let me proceed without picking an engine.

Called them, went through all the same crap again, only to be told they couldn't quote.

Previous times I've tried to use them, they've been extortionate.

Well I must be lucky then, got a good deal with Quote me happy for my third car, a £500 runner which my wife is learning to drive on. They were £50 plus cheaper than anyone else on comparison site, all done online, uploaded my ncd proof and all okay, cannot grumble. Certainly a lot better then RAC who I was with previously, they really need avoiding!!

I was with direct line for years they were always cheaper for me until about 2 years back then they started putting the price up silly amount, I did a quote to see if they were more competetive this year.

NO.... Just over £1000. Full no claims, No accidents or convictions etc. My renewal was less than half that.

Not really any different from Directline (You know... the company you can only deal DIRECT with?) and their other brands... Churchill, Privilege etc?

I've been with Aviva for over 2 years and it's been pain free when I have had to deal with them... 99% of the time I get through to their call centre in Norwich anyway!
