Easter Saturday/Sunday 23rd/24th April 2011 What small DFW things will you do today??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :rotfl:
:easter_os Happy easter everyone :easter: may your baskets be full of (metaphorical) eggs  Not that I am religious but I am going to a service tomorrow with a friend - and I get a free breakfast
Working today for me... Hopefully the comps will back up & running & I can get on with a lot of stuff that I have had to leave in my intray

I'm in Thailand 6 hours ahead of BST so already it's Saturday afternoon.
This morning i went to an auction and bought a box full of books for 500 baht (about ten pounds) i then took them straight to one of the second hand English bookstores in town and got 1500 baht for them.
This afternoon I will blitz the house cleaning, tidying up organising etc.
This evening I'm to the bar to watch my team Sunderland on the big screen. I will nurse one drink for the whole of the game (65 baht) which also means I will be under the drink driving limit so I can ride my Yamaha Nouvo there and back saving on a taxi fare.0 -

Made the burgers for today's BBQ - came out at half the price of ready-made. Did not bulk out with breadcrumbs or anything - these are 100% meat with addition of onions and seasoning
Thailand sounds good to me;)Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Good morning guys, I have been awake since 5.30am so have a had quite a productive morning ( albeit a very quiet one!) Have sorted out my finances for the rest of the month, updated my CC balances and made some small extra payments towards them.
Dont know if its the sun shining so early, the fact that I've been up for a few hours already or looking at my CC balances, but I feel super motivated today to make money to get rid of my balance, so today will be ebay ebay ebay!
Apart from that, I shall be baking some easter cakes to give out to my family, ready for tomorrow.
Have a fab Saturday everyone xxLiving as simply as we can

Hi everyone
I'm off to visit family today. It's mum's bday and we're having a joint mini bday celebration because I haven't seen them since my bdayAll good. Tomorrow hopefully sis is having a BBQ so that'll just involve me playing with my niece and nephew in the garden
On the downside I need to get there/back (walk, tram, megabus then train = 5 hours of annoyance) and try to keep spends to a min  Not been doing too well recently
Other stuff:- Porridge brekkie
- OH buying day travel card; I just need a single ticket - walking then tram, rather than taxi to bus station
- Take refillable water bottle and flask for journey
- Phone doesn't need charging yet; charge tomorrow/Monday at sister's
- Bought niece and nephew's Easter egg on multibuy deal :T
- Bought photo frames on 2 for 1 for wedding photos - one for us; one for grandparents - thank you to them for our wedding pressie - one for their Wall of Fame, ie, hallway wall full of family photos - I'm sure all grandparents have one
Take care everyone! Big hugs to all!

Morning Everyone!!:easter: Thanks DNMS for starting us off on this lovely sunny morning
Sorry I have been awol for a couple of days been really busy... Thursday OH had a day off work as when I took him there was a lorry stuck under a tree in the lane   so we had a productive day in the garden/house. I now have hanging baskets and a nearly fully productive greenhouse :j:T
Yesterday I spent 2 hours cleaning the kitchen (wasn't really that dirty either) and the best part of 1.5 hours in the bathroom.... (not very big
) I even got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floor with the scrubbing brush  then I went to work ....
DS had a friend over last night to sleep, they finally got to sleep about half eleven last night so consequently all is still quiet...
Anyway, onto listy for the loooooooooong weekend:
MUST do ironing!
wash dogs beds (again)
Line dry everything
Sweep/hoover/mop all floors (except our bedroom which is carpet :rotfl:)
Take the boys out somewhere today (trying to think of something cheap to do!)
Tomorrow, we'll possibly go out somewhere and take some photos (OH has big expensive camera he likes to play with!) Plus it doesn't involve spending :T
Monday I'll probably have to do some work as its payroll daybut I'll try and do it from home if OH isn't working...
It's not a very inspiring list TBH, but I think this week will be the last quiet weekend before I have 400 people descend on the farm in the space of 2 weeks :eek: THEN it'll be 5am starts and 15 hour days... oh the joy!
Anyway, enough drivel from me, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the sunshine
......Bah have just heard movement from the boys  the peace will soon be shattered!!0 -
