Oh B****r! Didn't mean to do that! Have rectified the fault now though0 -
Gawd i wish this hadn't shown up again...makes me feel fed up
I would LOVE to have a cleaner!0 -
It depends so much on where you are. I pay £10 an hour and that is the cheapest I can find in my expensive area of the SE. My friends pay up to £14/15 an hour and think that is reasonable!
My cleaner is a man and works with either his wife or another woman (I don;t always know who he will turn up with) so I get 2 man hours but they are here for one hour. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I always go through an agency who ensure their cleaners have insurance etc. remember if you have a cleaner on an informal basis you are responsible if they have an accident, so I believe.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0

The OP is 8 years ago. That had to be some sort of necro record. Let it rest is peace!0

I clean for £10 an hour. Its such an easy type job to fit round kids. I just get stuck in and find it like a free workout.0

She should charge around £8 to £10 an hour . I think that sounds reasonable.0

I can't believe this thread is still popping up. For anyone who is interested my Mum found work with a lovely family who treated her really well. Unfortunately they moved last year and it was a little too far for my Mum to travel to every day so she retired. She still keeps in touch with the family though and has been to visit their new house.
It would be nice to know that all cleaners get treated so well as it's a tough job that seems to be often undervalued and underpaid.0 -
Meh, I pay mine 12.50, seems a lot to me! She brings her own things though. We only have 2.5 hours every other week though to keep the costs down.
My sister can't keep a cleaner which makes me very sad as she really needs it, she is a single mum and they keep quitting because they place is to messy!! That's why she needs a cleaner! Its not like its terrible, just a some toys on the floor etc, although I do admit her kitchen really needs de-cluttering.0 -
