Can't speak personally about that one but:

All web pages, data and contact made using this website is managed by Productfeed UK LTD (Company No. 6842966)

We do not provide a telephone number or email address due to the amount of cold calls received by marketing companies.

Please go to the home page and submit your details in the form there for any service enquiries.

Also can't see a real address on there and can't be bothered to look up their parent company. I would prefer a real shop/person with a real address rather than this what looks like franchise.

Where are you in the country? May be able to get some recommendations...

Some idea of what type of watch and what repair is needed would be helpful?

    Thanks, appreciated.

Yea saw there was no address listed, but assumed like that quote said, that they attempt to avoid cold calls, and deal with customer via the form thing. Guess makes more sense 1 to 1.

Im currently is south coast near pool, but its my fathers watch, and hears nearer north in Yorkshire, so thought id see whats in either area, or inbetween.

Its a older Rolex, not entirely sure what is the issue, but the winder seems a little looser that i remember, and is a bit banged up, so could do with some cosmetic care too.

Was surprised to see about the batteries costing so much now though.
Don't think i was ever charged more that a couple of quid, and would give the repairer £2 more voluntary for the work, at my local.
Most of the time they wouldn't take it!

J & R Jewellery in Bournemouth have a Rolex accredited repairer on staff. I haven't had any dealings with them but I've seen the quality of the owner's jewellery making (he's a proper workiing jeweller) and I can't see him cutting corners on watches.

Assuming it's a screw-down crown, "looseness" is usually because the internal spring has failed. That's not a huge problem as long as it hasn't worn the crown's pipe - springs are cheap, genuine Rolex crowns are mortgage territory! Funnily enough, just sent one back to one of our trade customers that had the same complaint!

Who did? Timpsons, "123watchspecialist" or J&R Jewellery? And did they get it sorted?

    Lifetime Guarantee on battery.

My story seems very familiar on this forum. Had two batteries changed on my watch over say 2 years.....now they say its not the battery. I asked for the watch back and you can hardly turn the crown. To me it appears the watch was damaged whist in their care!!! Now they estimate £300 for service. They had sent it away to a central repair center where they must have played football with my £2,000 watch!

I've got one on my bench at the moment where they opened it, filled it with dirt (not intentionally, but still....) and left visible damage to a screw head while fitting a battery. And left the back finger tight.

They then charged £45 for pressure testing*, which it what alerted the owner - the watch only went to them for a clasp repair and the movement is an ETA 7750 automatic mechanical chronograph! So quite where they were hoping to stuff a battery in I really don't know

    * Yes, a finger tight back can pass a pressure test. The presssure forces it down onto the seal but then it still leaks if it's wet with no pressure on it (splashes etc)

The young guy who has changed a number of batteries on different watches for me seems quite knowledgable and helpful and I've always been pleased. Saying that I have my Skagen watches sent off by my local jelwer to be replaced.

I took my wifes watch into timsons, never again, it needed a new strap that's all, he told me the winder knob was broke, I don't think so but cannot prove this, he said three weeks, ok, three weeks went by and in I went again, oh sorry forgot to order the strap, it will be another three weeks, three more weeks and he told me another twelve weeks, I felt like telling him to shove it where the sun don't shine but the watch cost over £400 so we will see what the come up with next.
