Day 9 and I've finally got real clothes on!!! :D Very, very tired - and feeble - but a real corner has been turned. Didn't manage to get a GP apt - got same answer - all gone, try tomorrow and phone goes down. Sure, if it was for my child, I wouldn't accept that - I'd be up at the surgery in that case, but there's no way I could have done that for me! Anyway, my breathing is still a bit duff and I'm sure I've pulled a couple of things with all the coughing, but I am SOOOOO much better! Although helping DS1 get the Xmas dec boxes back into the house loft almost killed me earlier! I keep finding things to do sitting down (such as inputting all the RM survey stuff from the past week!) as I'm tired. But definitely getting there - thank you all so much for the get well wishes! :):):) xxx

More good news - it looks like we have a tenant for the BTL wef 1st Feb :) :j - although the previous ones actually left us with quite a bit of work :( I shall definitely be billing them through their deposit for a proper clean - bits of food left in fridge/ freezer, sticky cupboards and drawers..., cobwebs, obviously unvacuumed flooring.... And damaged flooring and plumbing. Meh! Still, we won't be too many £ down in the end, hopefully. :) Oh - and they changed all their utilities into my name before they'd even moved out (and are liable for all and rent until 20th Feb/ new tenant moves in, whichever earlier - cheeky so and sos!!)

Kitchen has come to a halt at this end where I've been ill. Need to get a move on with that - in short bursts! - this week. We can go and watch our new one being built in the factory :) - quite exciting :)

Right - time for a cuppa and to feed smalls, I guess :)
    xx

So pleased to hear you're up and about, greent, but you're not well yet, not by a long chalk, please don't try to get right back into it.

Agree about the tenants, btw - cheeky!

Glad you are starting to feel better. Take care of yourself and don't rush back to 'normality'

About 20 years ago I had flu, and went back to work a bit too soon. The cloak room was on the first floor, and I walked up the stairs, took my coat off, and had to sit down as I couldn't go any further. In the end my colleagues sent out a search party!

Glad you are feeling better but don't overdo it :) Am echoing the others I know.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Can you deduct the bills from their deposit? Surely you shouldn't be able to change bills into someone's name without their permission?

Glad you're feeling better, sure the kitchen is missing you. :)

    Evening all :)

Still wiped out and taking it easy. I have to have a rest if I go upstairs:eek::o - it wipes me out for a good half hour! Haven't done a school run yet - OH has been working from home and done them all for me:T However, tomorrow I will need to do them :( I am taking it easy though - today I did some ironing sat in front of the tv :D (I did all easy things) and got OH's co accounts all reconciled to date (year end is the month end) (although I need to go through and make sure I have paper to match all entries)

Ex-tenant has just been a bit of a pain. New tenant now not moving in until 8th Feb, which means a month without rent from ex-tenant (will be charging back to deposit - along with a cleaning fee and a damage fee for flooring and a fee to remove their rubbish - pretty sure they're hardly going to get anything back - but as we've had to pay out fees to find new tenant, redecorate, clean/ carpet clean, replaster walls from removal of badly done wallpaper we are still down, but not too much overall) The utilities should all hopefully be all sorted out and they (ex tenants) should be liable until new tenant moves in. They also didn't bother to set up a redirect of post so I picked up a pile of that and marked it all ready to put back in post box as return to sender - and then got a message asking from ex-tenants asking if there was any - said they need to pick it up from here. Just another silly little niggle.

Talking of plastering, we have a plasterer booked for our kitchen, meant to be coming in next week.... he is currently in hospital with nerve damage in his back, awaiting further specialist tests... argh! He's asked a friend to help out if he can..... fingers crossed.

Money wise.... hmmm.... it's the run up to Jan payday - and we are therefore officially skint! :D However, I do have all the money set aside to pay off the rest of the kitchen (still have an obscene 10k+ left to pay....:o) and I believe I have enough for all the trades (electrics/ plasterer/ plumber (doing some rads and our bathroom shower)/ floorer) unless any disasters come to light! I will be very glad come this time next month - I think everything may then have been paid for (bar maybe the final 5% of kitchen, which is due a week after fit completed) and I will know just how much money we have(n't? :D) got left - and can then start attacking the 0% CCs. I also have a heap of stuff to list on flebay (lots of Denby and other kitchen items + some household stuff) but don't want the added hassle of dealing with any of that whilst house is slightly topsy-turvy - plus all my packaging stuff has been used to pack up our kitchen! :rotfl:

    Roll on next month.... :)

Such a lot on your plate! I'm glad that at least you haven't had to do the school run tomorrow - hope it goes smoothly.
