Fantastic news! Congratulations!!
Im doing the penny per day of year thing! Not sure I'll manage it at the end of the year as I'm doing it on top of my normal savings, but I'll give it a good go!
First floor is fine especially if you also get your own garden. I actually felt safer on the first floor than I ever felt in a ground floor flat, I wasn't scared to leave my windows open at night for one! Not that I lived in a bad area but I worry about things like that!
Will the council allow you to keep your dog?MFW

Thanks everyone.
I know what you mean Bellevie I'm the same with windows. And the council are fine with us keeping Mr D thankfully.
Whenever I go out now I always end up driving past it I'm that sad lol.
I'm looking forward to a nice long lie in one day. I'm just not sleeping properly at the moment.
I'm glad someone else is doing the penny thing. I'm going to try to the end of November so it will be spends for Christmas.

Fab news Tink, Congratulations!
Whichever one you go for sounds like it will be perfect, and you're doing well on the furniture front so you'll be settled in before you know it!

How exciting!!
Do you have a cooker, washing machine etc?
I like the idea Rosa mentioned using paper to decorate under bed storage, I think I'm going to do that myself!
In Wilko they have those plastic drawer type things reduced to £8! I got one for the kitchen to put Mr T's food / grooming & other bits in. They had bigger ones for £10, and individual clear boxes for £5, as well as the collapsible plastic crate type things for £2. I used those for kitchen bits when I last moved.
Have you decided to go for the one with the front or back garden? Do you know if you will need to save up for flooring etc? We usually rip flooring out unless its in good enough condition to be left, but we do have links to local charities who will offer grants towards things like this.
I'm so excited for you! What a super start to 2016MFW

Hi Sam. Sorry for the lack of posts but I've not had much to report until now. I had a call yesterday and it's ours (the one with the front garden) and I should be in within two weeks. The other tenants don't move out until next Monday. I just hope nothing major needs doing in there as that will set us back.
I went and paid for my sofa the other day and found an old drop leaf writing desk which I also bought and I'm going to up cycle it and put all my lovely stationery in it. Oh and my beloved budget binder. I think I'm loving it slightly more than my spreadsheet.
I just haven't the time at the moment to look at YNAB and there's nothing better than putting pen to paper in my opinion.
Health wise I'm still not sleeping properly and my skin on my face is awful because of this. It's my day off today so I'm having a lazy one and a much needed catch up on your diaries.
Hope everyone is ok. It's been a bit quiet on here since New Year.
