A bit of a spendy day as lunch with the girls - but so worth it. Haven't had a catch up or such a good laugh for ages. It really does make you feel good :) Came home to find a refund cheque for some rubbish work carried out by a local dishwasher repair shop had finally arrived. This has taken over 2 months and about 5 increasingly irate phone calls from me to sort out !! However, on closer inspection they have misspelt my surname. I am not sure whether to try and present it to the bank or risk trying to obtain another cheque! Family get together today (which always seems to takes place at our house as we are the midpoint for lots of relatives) Am busy cooking at the moment and doing some urgent tidying and housework. Using lots of bits from the freezer which I am still trying to empty which is good. In my head I am very house proud with a home that would be completely organised and beautiful at all times, however in reality that is not quite the case ............:rotfl:

I'd try the bank first - I frequently get cheques to my nickname rather than my full name...usually they're ok with them, so it's worth a shot.

I love the concept of an organised/clean home, but never enough to actually tidy up the place! 2 1/2 years after buying our place we still get asked if we've just moved. (That may be in part due to DH's boxes of DVDs/books lying around.)

Just lost a really long post, so will try again. Thanks Hiddenshadow, will try the bank first. Don't think I have the energy for another 1000 phone calls to try and get a new cheque :rotfl: Nearly payday :T another chance for spreadsheet shenanigans and money shuffles. In negotiation with my boss to try and have my contract converted from fixed term to permanent, so am crossing all fingers and toes at the moment. Would like the security of permanent so I don't have to spend each summer worrying whether I will have any work in the September. Money news - I was hoovering sofa cushions earlier and found 5p to add to my collection :rotfl: Decluttered a kitchen drawer and found all sorts of dubious things. Drawer looks lovely now and I feel very smug (although it has to be said if my housekeeping wasn't so rubbish it wouldn't have been in that mess in the first place :rotfl: ) DH was checking business account and it seems we have almost reached mortgage neutral which is great news. Although some of that money is allocated for the next tax payment, it's good to know the money is there. Decisions to be made now. Happy bank holiday everyone.

Congrats on nearly mortgage neutrality! Very exciting, even if it's just on paper.

Pay day tomorrow :T seems to have been a long time coming this month. Inspired by ShanghaiJimmy I have counted up my change (one pot of 5ps and one bag of coppers). Total £9.10 in 5ps and £2.08 in coppers. With daily interest at £3.10 that's 3.6 days of interest covered. Coins now bagged up ready for the bank later this week. It's the little things that add up :j

Just has a sneaky log in to TCB (whilst at work) and £20.20 payable (imagine "clapping hands" emoti here- can't get it to work!) Off to the OP pot to start off June's payment. Together with TT of 45p yesterday that's a nice little sum :)

Just made an OP of £250 - a combination of TCB, TTs and some spare bits :T Am really pleased with that as together with our normal OP we have dipped below the £44s and the new balance is £43,911.21 with daily interest reduced to £3.06 :j It's going, it really is going :T
