Thanks KoG! It will be a day of celebrations!:)

How are you, do you have a diary? Well done on making the changes and inching down on the debt. In some ways the first days are the hardest.

Not sure what we have planned today. OH and me trying to get our heads around tax, VAT etc..Caz..where are you when I need you?!! :rotfl: It will be a whole new learning experience but one that is beginning to pan out as a very good move for us.

Grey day here but looking forward to 2 days off :)

Yes...;) A new venture..mainly for OH but in time who knows?;)

The company was incorporated on Friday, have applied for a bank account. Very exciting.

If we hadn't had our LBM and well on the way to being DF we couldn't have even begun to countenance this so it just shows you what new horizons living without debt can bring...just when I think of all the hundreds of thousands we have spent over the years on stuff we could have done without I could have retired by now!:o

    Exciting times. :)

Please get yourself a good accountant. Whilst you can do things yourself, chances are a decent accountant will save you much more than their fees.

Yep, he has been hired, via a recommendation from another small business. He set up the company for us last week.

    Will keep you posted :)

Any plans for the weekend? It's glorious here..but I am due at the hairdressers and OH is decorating windows, so no chance of getting out for a walk in our beautiful city/ the countryside yet :(

It is rather funny though..OH is chatting to all the neighbours as they walk by..it's a very sociable thing to do, this outside painting lark..I think he is rather enjoying it :D

Sounds like you've covered most bases, look forward to hearing your updates.

Nice weather here too. :) The only few things I've got planned are in no way exciting and we've got to go see the in-laws later, less said about that the better.

Where we live, if I'm doing jobs outside I don't really see anybody apart from the farmer "next door".

I wouldn't have been much use anyway, tax and VAT for a limited company is very different to tax and VAT for an 'umble sole trader like myself ;)
