Money Moral Dilemma: Should I charge my Mum for my old phone?

I've upgraded to a new phone and my Mum wants my old handset as she's never had a smartphone before. It's pretty ancient but a friend of mine has offered to pay me £50 for it and I reckon I could get more online. Should I ask her for cash? Or let her have it for free?

Shouldn't have to think about it really, hopefully she will have done many things for you throughout your life. . I'd give it to her and definitely wouldn't charge her0

It's your mum...just give it to her!0

You should not have needed to post this, its your mum, she probably does not have a fancy phone as she has spent years not spending money on herself but on food and bills and er.. possibly you.. hand over the phone with a smile and a big hug and even think of adding a bunch of flowers to it.0

Agreed with the messages so far just give it to your mum and give her a SIM with some credit on it so she can call you.:footie:

You should be ashamed for even thinking it !0

Since you were a little girl, how much has the mate who offered you £50 done for you ? Now compare that to how much has your Mum done for you ?
I think you should decide yourself if your Mum is worth £50 to you.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

(1) Give the smartphone to your Mum.
(2) Regret that decision every day for the next six months as she phones / texts / emails with yet another "How do I ..." question :rotfl::heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

You're presuming you'll understand the parental version of text speak. Also expect a multitude of texts saying "where are you?".All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
